Furniture Moving

Most flooring quotes stop at the doorway and leave the heavy lifting to you. Quality Carpet Installations includes furniture moving with carpet work throughout Highlands Ranch, CO, and Littleton, taking out beds, sofas, and cabinets, protecting hard floors on the way, replacing everything the same day, with 30 years of practice and free written estimates arranged on our contact page.

CLEARING THE ROOM IS HALF THE JOB.

Everything standing in a room has to leave it before a single yard of carpet goes down, and that half of the work is what homeowners underestimate. Beds come apart. Sectionals do not fit back through the door the way they came in. Media cabinets are heavier than they look and full of cables nobody labeled.

Quality Carpet Installations take that on as part of the job rather than as a condition of it. You are not renting a truck, calling in favors, or paying somebody separately to empty the house.

FURNITURE MOVING

THE FURNITURE IS THE PART PEOPLE DREAD.

Ask anyone who has put off recarpeting a bedroom and the reason is rarely the carpet. It is the wardrobe, the king bed, and the bookcase that has not moved since 2011. That dread postpones flooring projects for years, and it should not. Clearing a room is routine work for a crew that does it daily, with the right straps, sliders, and dollies, and it takes a fraction of the time you would spend on it.

THE HOUSES HERE WERE NOT BUILT FOR SECTIONALS.

Half flights, tight landings, and narrow basement stairwells are everywhere across Highlands Ranch, CO and the neighboring towns. Getting a sofa around a turn without marking the drywall takes planning rather than force. We look at the route before anything is lifted, decide what comes apart at the hardware, and stage pieces where they will not block the next room we need to reach.

NOTHING IN YOUR HOUSE IS NEW TO OUR CREW.

Gun safes, aquariums, treadmills, grand old dressers with drawers that slide out on their own. After 30 years of clearing rooms across Douglas County, the pieces that worry homeowners are the ones we have handled hundreds of times. We will tell you honestly if something is beyond us, which is rare and usually involves a piano or a safe bolted to the slab. What is in the room that concerns you?

WHAT HAVING US MOVE IT MEANS FOR YOU.

NO SECOND CONTRACTOR TO HIRE

One crew, one schedule, one point of accountability for the whole project. Nobody is standing around waiting on movers, and no one gets to blame the other trade if something goes wrong.

FLOORS PROTECTED ON THE WAY OUT

Hardwood and tile take the damage during a carpet job, not the carpet. Sliders, blankets, and protective runners go down along the route before anything heavy travels across a finished surface.

YOUR HOME BACK THE SAME DAY

Furniture leaves and returns within the same visit on nearly every job. You are not sleeping around boxes, eating off a counter, or living with a garage full of bedroom furniture for a week.

NOTHING LIFTED BY YOU

No calling in friends, no rented dolly, no straining a back over a sleeper sofa. The physical part of the project simply stops being your problem the moment the crew arrives.

FEWER SCRATCHES AND SNAGS

People who move furniture daily know how to pivot a dresser through a doorway without gouging the frame. Practiced hands damage walls, corners, and furniture legs far less often than borrowed help does.

A SCHEDULE THAT ACTUALLY HOLDS

Coordinating movers and installers separately is how projects slip by days. When the same team does both, the start time we give you is the start time you get.

WHAT WE MOVE

OUR FURNITURE MOVING WORK

Every room holds something awkward, and every house has one piece nobody wants to touch. These are the items and situations we handle regularly during carpet installation, repair, and stretching work across the south metro.

HEAVY PIECES

Sofa, Bed, and Dresser Moving

Sectionals, sleeper sofas, dressers, wardrobes, and dining sets shifted out and returned to their original positions. Drawers stay in where it is safe and come out where it is not, and nothing gets dragged across a subfloor.

BEDS

Bed Frame Breakdown and Reassembly

King and queen frames come apart, mattresses are stood aside safely, and everything is rebuilt once the carpet is down. Hardware is bagged and kept with the frame so nothing goes missing during the job.

ELECTRONICS

Television and Electronics Handling

Televisions, consoles, speakers, and computers moved carefully off the work area. We ask you to unplug and photograph the cabling beforehand, then set each unit back on its stand once the new floor is finished.

STORAGE

Room-to-Room Staging

In whole-home projects, furniture is staged into finished rooms rather than piled outdoors or into a truck. We sequence the work so you always keep a bed, a bathroom, and a usable path between them.

APPLIANCES

Appliance and Fixture Shifting

Washers, dryers, and freestanding units in laundry rooms and basements get eased aside so carpet can run underneath properly. Water and power connections are your plumber's territory, and we work around whatever stays connected.

OFFICES

Office Furniture and Workstation Moving

Desks, filing cabinets, and workstations relocated during commercial installs, often after hours. Cabinets stay loaded where safe, and each workstation returns to its original footprint so nobody comes back to a rearranged office.

Common Questions

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS.

What homeowners ask about clearing rooms before flooring work, answered ahead of time. Anything unusual in your house is worth flagging on the contact page before we schedule.

  • Do you have to empty a room before new carpet is installed?

Completely, yes. Carpet is stretched wall to wall, so nothing can remain standing on the floor. We handle the furniture; you only need to clear small items, breakables, and the contents of closet floors.

  • What should I do with electronics and beds during carpet work?

Unplug electronics and photograph the cable layout the night before so reconnection is simple. Strip bedding from mattresses. We take care of the physical moving, including breaking down and rebuilding bed frames.

  • Can furniture be moved into another room and returned the same day?

That is the standard approach. Contents are staged into an adjacent finished space while we work, then returned once the carpet is installed, stretched, trimmed, and vacuumed in that room.

  • Does furniture need to stay off new carpet for a while?

No waiting period is needed. Set pieces down rather than dragging them, and use coasters or glides under heavy legs so the pile is not permanently crushed by concentrated weight.

  • What items do installers not move?

Pianos, gun safes, large aquariums, and anything requiring a plumbing or gas disconnection usually need a specialist. Tell us in advance and we will confirm what we can handle before your installation date.

  • How do you protect furniture during carpet installation?

Blankets, sliders, and straps do most of the work, with protective runners laid over hard floors along the carry route. Fragile items and loose contents are best packed by you beforehand.

  • Do appliances need disconnecting before carpet is installed?

Anything plumbed or gas-fed should be disconnected by the appropriate trade beforehand. Freestanding electrical units we can usually shift ourselves as part of clearing the room ahead of the installation.

  • Can a house be carpeted in stages so furniture has somewhere to go?

Yes, and on whole-home jobs that is often the smartest sequence. We work through the house in phases so contents shift into completed rooms and you keep a usable bed and bathroom throughout.

HOW WE WORK

FROM FULL ROOM TO CLEAR FLOOR, HERE IS HOW.

STEP 01

WE WALK EVERY ROOM

At the estimate we note what is in each space, what comes apart, and what needs two people. Anything unusual gets flagged then, not discovered on installation morning with a crew standing by.

STEP 02

WE PLAN WHERE IT GOES

Before anything is lifted we decide which room stages which contents, and in what order the house gets worked through. That sequence is what keeps you living normally while the job runs.

STEP 03

WE PROTECT THE ROUTE

Runners go over hardwood and tile, corners get padded where a wide piece has to turn, and doorways are checked for clearance. Damage on a carpet job usually happens on the way out.

STEP 04

WE LIFT AND CARRY

Sliders under heavy pieces, straps for the awkward ones, and frames broken down where a doorway demands it. Hardware is bagged and labeled so reassembly is quick rather than a guessing exercise.

STEP 05

WE DO THE FLOOR WORK

With the room clear, the carpet, repair, or stretch proceeds without anything to work around. An empty room is also what allows a proper stretch, since a power stretcher needs the full wall.

STEP 06

WE PUT IT ALL BACK

Furniture returns to its original position, beds are rebuilt, electronics go back on their stands, and the room is vacuumed. You should walk in and see the room you left, with better carpet.
