THE HOUR SPENT ON THE SUBFLOOR DECIDES THE NEXT TEN YEARS.

Nobody photographs the subfloor. It is still where a carpet job is won or lost. Squeaks get screwed down, high spots get sanded, staples and old tack strip come out, and the slab or plywood gets checked for moisture before a single roll is opened. Skip that hour and the finished floor telegraphs every flaw underneath it.

Then comes layout. We decide where seams fall, which way the pile runs, and how the pattern crosses each doorway before we cut anything, because carpet is unforgiving once the blade is through the backing.

  • Subfloor inspected, screwed, and cleaned first
  • Seam plan drawn before any cutting
  • Power stretched to the CRI 105 standard
  • 10-year warranty on installation work

CARPET INSTALLATION

A HOUSE FEELS DIFFERENT THE DAY THE CARPET GOES DOWN.

Hard floors bounce sound around a room. Carpet takes it out of the air, softens the temperature underfoot, and makes a bedroom feel like somewhere you would sit on the floor. That is the part homeowners describe afterward, more than color or brand. Getting there means the right cushion under the right fiber, stretched tight enough that the surface stays even from wall to wall through years of chairs, dogs, and traffic.

CO SUBFLOORS ARE NOT ALL BUILT THE SAME.

A 1985 ranch in Highlands Ranch, CO has plank or plywood underfoot and settled framing. A new build in Castle Rock or Parker has a fresh slab that is still giving up moisture. A finished basement has both concrete and humidity to manage. Each one changes the cushion we recommend and how the perimeter gets fastened, which is why we look before we quote.

30 YEARS OF LAYING CARPET IN DOUGLAS COUNTY HOMES.

Working 30 years in one market teaches things a manual cannot. Which builders left the tack strip too far off the wall. Which fibers crush in a south-facing living room. How much a floor relaxes once winter heat runs dry for a month. Quality Carpet Installations brings that to your measure, and we tell you when a cheaper carpet will do the job just as well. What are you hoping this room feels like when it is finished?

WHAT A PROPERLY INSTALLED FLOOR GIVES BACK.

A FLOOR THAT STAYS FLAT

Ripples never appear in a floor stretched correctly the first time. The tension holds through seasonal swings, so the surface you see on day one is the one you are still walking on years later.

WARMTH THAT SHOWS UP ON THE THERMOSTAT

Cushion and pile together slow heat loss through the floor. Rooms over crawl spaces and unheated basements stop feeling cold underfoot, and the furnace works less to keep the same room comfortable.

A NOTICEABLY QUIETER HOUSE

Footsteps, voices, and television noise stop bouncing off hard surfaces. Upstairs bedrooms lose the drumming sound that hardwood carries, which matters most in homes with children, dogs, or a basement media room.

SEAMS YOU CANNOT FIND

Planned, sealed, and placed away from the light, a seam disappears into the pile. You stop noticing the floor as a set of pieces and start seeing one continuous surface across the room.

A WARRANTY THAT ACTUALLY HOLDS

Manufacturer coverage depends on correct cushion and proper stretching. Installed to standard, your carpet warranty stays intact, and our own 10-year installation warranty sits behind the workmanship on top of it.

YOUR HOUSE BACK BY EVENING

Furniture goes out, the floor goes down, furniture comes back. No living out of a garage for a week and no waiting on a second crew to return for the pieces that got skipped.

WHAT WE INSTALL

OUR CARPET INSTALLATION WORK

Every room has its own quirks, from a basement slab to a bonus room over the garage. These are the installations we handle most, each one measured, planned, and stretched the same careful way.

WHOLE HOME

Full Home Carpet Installation

Every carpeted room done in one coordinated visit, with the pile running the same direction throughout so hallways and bedrooms read as one floor. We sequence rooms so you always have somewhere to sit, sleep, and walk while the work moves through the house.

SINGLE ROOMS

Bedroom and Living Room Carpet

One room, measured and finished without disturbing the rest of the house. We match existing transitions at the doorways, protect adjoining hard floors during the work, and vacuum the new pile before the furniture goes back in place.

BELOW GRADE

Basement Carpet Installation

Concrete brings moisture, so we test the slab and specify cushion with a vapor barrier before anything else. Tack strip gets fastened into the concrete, and we choose fibers that tolerate the temperature and humidity swings a finished basement puts them through.

NEW BUILDS

New Construction Carpet Installation

Builders and homeowners finishing a new house get carpet laid after paint and trim, timed so nothing gets tracked over fresh pile. Fresh slabs and framing need extra checking for moisture and level, and we allow the material proper time to acclimate first.

COMMERCIAL FLOORS

Office and Commercial Carpet

Offices, suites, and light commercial spaces installed around your operating hours, including evenings when a workday cannot pause. Broadloom or carpet tile, laid with traffic patterns in mind so the busiest lanes hold their appearance the longest.

CUSHION AND PREP

Carpet Padding and Subfloor Prep

The layer nobody sees decides how the carpet ages. We remove old cushion and staples, correct squeaks and high spots, then set new padding at the correct density and thickness for the carpet going over it.

THE WORD ON OUR WORK

WHAT OUR CLIENTS SAY.

The comments that come back most often are about seams nobody can locate, furniture returned exactly where it started, and a house left cleaner than the crew found it. Read through what our customers wrote, then tell us about the rooms you have in mind.

Common Questions

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS.

The questions homeowners ask us most before a carpet installation, answered plainly. Anything specific to your rooms is worth asking at the estimate, where we can see the space.

  • How long does carpet installation take?

Most single rooms finish in 2 to 4 hours, and an average home takes a full day. Stairs, pattern matching, and heavy furniture add time, as does removing old glued-down flooring.

  • Do carpet installers move furniture?

We do, and it is included. Sofas, beds, dressers, and tables come out and go back the same day. Clearing small items, electronics, and closet floors ahead of time speeds the whole job.

  • Can you install new carpet over existing carpet?

It is not advisable. The old cushion is already compressed, the new carpet cannot be stretched properly over it, and the added height causes doors and transitions to bind. Removal is the better path.

  • Do I need to remove baseboards for carpet installation?

No. Carpet tucks into the gully between the tack strip and the wall, which sits behind the baseboard. Trim only comes off when quarter round or shoe molding blocks the tuck.

  • How soon can you walk on new carpet after installation?

Immediately. Keep foot traffic light for the first day while the backing settles, avoid dragging furniture across it, and give any adhesive used at transitions a full day before heavy use.

  • What thickness of carpet padding is best?

For standard residential stretch-in carpet, cushion should not exceed 1/2 inch. Density matters more than thickness, and going thicker than the manufacturer allows is one of the fastest ways to void coverage.

  • Why does new carpet smell after installation?

That odor comes from the latex used in the backing releasing gas, and it fades within a few days. Open windows, run fans, and keep the room ventilated to clear it faster.

  • Should carpet be installed before or after painting?

After. Paint splatter, drop cloths, and ladder feet all find new carpet. Finish the walls and trim, let everything cure, then bring the carpet in so it is the last thing installed.

HOW WE WORK

FROM FIRST MEASURE TO FINAL VACUUM, HERE IS HOW.

STEP 01

WE MEASURE AND LISTEN

We walk every room, measure wall to wall, note doorways, closets, and transitions, and ask how each space actually gets used. Traffic patterns and light shape the seam plan more than the floor plan does.

STEP 02

WE HELP YOU CHOOSE

Fiber, twist, density, and color all get weighed against pets, sunlight, and the beating each room takes. Samples come to you, or you compare full rolls at our showroom in Littleton, CO.

STEP 03

WE QUOTE IT IN WRITING

You get exact yardage, cushion specification, and labor in a written estimate with no verbal add-ons later. We explain what drives the number so you can adjust the carpet rather than the scope.

STEP 04

WE PREPARE THE SPACE

Furniture comes out, old carpet and cushion get pulled and hauled away, and staples come up. Then the subfloor gets screwed, cleaned, and checked for moisture before new material touches it.

STEP 05

WE INSTALL AND STRETCH

Cushion goes down, carpet gets cut to the seam plan, edges are sealed, and every room is power stretched a minimum of 1% in both directions before the perimeter is trimmed and tucked.

STEP 06

WE PUT YOUR HOUSE BACK

Furniture returns to where it started, transitions get fastened, the new floor is vacuumed, and every offcut leaves with us. We walk the job with you before anyone packs up the van.
